Design and build with Cursor and Lovable.

I am familiar with the “boring” setup around the build too: Supabase, Resend, Stripe, and Vercel.

Cursor

Building products in Cursor.

I use Cursor when the work needs to live in a real repo. Apps, tools, calculators, logged-in flows. Design and build in the same place, on a branch your team can review before anything hits main.

Maker's Schedule and Atleteo started this way. Real files, real product UI, not a handoff that hopes someone else finishes it.

  • Design Mode

Click something on the live page and say what should change. The file updates. Great for UI tweaks without a ticket for every pixel.

  • Built-in browser

The product runs next to the editor. You see layout and flows as they change, not only in a mockup.

  • Branch and diff

Work happens on a branch. Your team reviews every change before anything hits main.

  • Rules and project context

Project rules tell the agent how this product should look and behave, so edits stay closer to your brand and product.

  • Calculators and tools

Pricing calculators, configurators, comparison flows, auth, APIs. The interactive bits a marketing site was never meant to carry.

  • Your GitHub repo

Files live in your repo. Your team keeps the code. That is the big difference from a Lovable link you mainly share and iterate on.

Lovable

Building apps in Lovable.

Lovable is for a working app with a URL people can open. Best when you need a first version to share after a call, learn from, and improve. Same energy as my own demos: try it, then make it better.

My Garden Canvas is one of those. Beds, plants, and notes on a canvas. When you are ready, we can push to GitHub so your developers keep going.

  • Live preview

The app runs while we build. You can click through it yourself before anyone else sees it.

  • Shareable link

A URL you can text to a cofounder or a customer. Same thing they would open after a call.

  • Visual edits

Move copy and layout without starting over. Useful when feedback is "make that clearer."

  • Fast iteration

Someone gets stuck on a screen. We can fix that screen the same day.

  • Database, logic, and payments

User accounts, product logic, and Stripe in the same Lovable project for a first version.

  • GitHub export

When you are ready, push to GitHub. Your developers get files they can keep working on.
